In Colorado visiting family, I managed a trip up to our quarries on the cliffs overlooking Lyons and Highway 36 heading towards Estes Park. My family's 117-year old business, Loukonen Bros. Stone, has had quarries on these mountains for decades, although the history of the area goes back to my great-grandfather's time.
