Crossing a corner of Slovenia, we headed straight for the ancient Croatian city of Varaždin. It turned out to be a fascinating city. Sadly, this was one of the few days that the weather wasn't great, and only an hour or so after arriving, it starting raining. Eventually we had to buy umbrellas; still we managed to see a good part of the historic city, including the city's famous cemetary.
