We were quite interested in climbing a volcano while in the area. There was the possibility of climbing a volcano near Pucon, called Volcán Villarrica, but Volcán Osorno wasn't an option. While there were trails that went up its slopes, that was as far as beginners could get. The slopes are too steep, and the glaciers have too many crevices. It's a dangerous mountain, climbers have died on its slopes.
