There wasn't necessarily a message that I was making with the series. I also took a lot of pictures in Durham, in its older tobacco section. I find these areas interesting, an industry that thrived for nearly two centuries before people realized the dangers and it all ended. The buildings today are being converted into fancy business buildings, renovated into storage facilities, that sort of thing, and yet there are areas that look like they did fifty or a hundred years ago.
