I liked the Gothic feeling of the town. There is a sharp difference in Danville between the types of neighborhoods, as the poorer ones, which basically are ghettos, are incredibly run-down, in contrast to the areas that are so well kept up. In other cities, such as Durham, the ghettos would be scary, but the history contained there, with the old architecture and all, fended off that impression and left one of age and its effect on cities, in particular when people are unable to afford expensive upkeep.
