My parents and I took a day to drive through Massachusetts and a corner of New Hampshire, then cut straight up Vermont. We stayed a night in Vermont before heading across NY into Ontario, crossing the border the next day. We didn't really have any specific route, we just decided where to go as our fingers moved along the map.
